KHUJAND, January 12, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Residents of the city of Khujand has applied to the public reception room of Tajik ombudsman’s office in Khujand, complaining about increase in the number of traffic police officers on the roads.
The public reception room head Istadmurod Akramov says they have received complaints mainly from taxi drivers. According to him, the drivers have made mainly verbal complaints because they fear retaliatory measures from traffic police officers.
“They, in particular, complain that at least five mobile traffic police units now operate on the Khujand-Istaravshan highway alone,” Akramov said.
