QURGHON TEPPA, January 8, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Ms. Mayrambi Ghafourova, the chairperson of the Khatlon department for protection of child’s rights, is convinced that MPs must adopt the law on preventing prostitution in the country.
According to her, joint raids made by representatives of the department and law enforcement officers on three disco clubs in the city Qurhon Teppa have led to the detention of 26 young women aged 19to 26 who came to the clubs “to earn” money.
“Many of them are divorcees having infants. They left their babies at homes alone and came to “work,” said Ghafourova. “None of them works.”
She considers that the law enforcement authorities must inspect all entertainment centers in the city.
A meeting of regional administrators will take place in Qurghon Teppa in the near future and the Qurghon Teppa mayor will report on the situation in the city.
