KULOB, March 2, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov today began a two-day working visit to a number of districts in the southern Khatlon province.
The main purpose of the visit is for the prime minister to get acquainted with the process of rehabilitation of flood protection embankment along the Panj River and closely monitor the flood situation in the area, an official source at the Kulob agency for emergency management said.
On March 2, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov visited Vose, Muminobod and Kulob districts. On March 3, he is expected to visit Hamadoni and Farkhor districts.
It is to be noted that Hamadoni, Farkhor, Kulob and Vose districts in khatlon province are among the most flood-prone areas in the country.
