Several more suicides were registered in North Tajikistan in the past few days.
G.N., a 23-year-old resident of Sarazm Jamoat of Penjikent region, hanged herself in her cattleshed, the regional police department for Sughd area reported. No traces of violent death were found on her body.
Another suicide occurred in Ismoil Jamoat of Bobojongafurov region where E.H., a 72-year-old pensioner, hanged himself in his own house.
Other suicides were committed one day earlier by B.Z., a 24-year-old resident of Istaravshan city and D.P., a 23-year-old resident of Asht region. Another suicide was registered in Taboshar city as a 31-year-old guard of a local musical college hanged himself in one of the classes.
Local prosecutor’s offices launched investigations into all of these cases.
According to the regional police department for Sughd area, 67 suicides were registered in the past three months this year (54 in 2011). Suicides were committed by 42 men, including 5 teenagers, and 25 women, including 4 girls.
Last week two suicides committed by a 12-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were registered in Sughd.
