Most severe damage was caused to Kulob group of regions where mudflows caused damage to 300 houses. Some of the houses were totally destroyed, the committee reported.
“Mudslides also totally destroyed 104 houses in Muminobod region, 52 in Vose region, 43 in Iftikhor village of Jomi region and 65 houses in Temurmalik region. Mudslides caused severe damage to roads, bridges and cropland,” the source reported.
Representatives of the republican emergency commission will estimate a total damage caused by the disaster.
Information about evacuation of people remains unavailable.
The emergency committee said the disaster caused damage to other regions of the country. Thus, mudslides which occurred on April 29-30 as a result of heavy rainfalls caused damage to Vakhdat, Faizobod and Spitamen regions.
