Khatlon officials met with quota scholarship students in Kulob.
Today, May 3, the Kulob Palace of Culture hosted a meeting of Khatlon officials with quota scholarship students.
Currently, a total of 350 boys and girls study in Khatlon universities under Presidential quota. The majority of them, 313, study at the Kulob State University, others at the branches of Technologic University and Agrarian University, organizers of the meeting told AP.
Quota scholarship students study with great enthusiasm and are trying to get the chosen profession and return back to their home region, rector of the Kulob State University Shodi Solehov said.
“We expelled only one student for poor progress and another one decided to go to another institution for family reasons,” he said, adding that there are 190 girls among quota students.
The meeting, which was moderated by deputy chairwoman of Khatlon province Sitora Sherova, was a surprise for the students. At the end of the meeting each region granted refrigerators, washing machines, gas heaters and other equipment students need in their dormitories. According to Sherova, a total of 2036 students from Khatlon were enrolled to 15 higher education institutions of Tajikistan under presidential quota.
