DUSHANBE, June 19, 2012, Asia-Plus -- 31 countries of the world have provided more than US$36.2 million worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan in January-May of 2012, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
More than 4,900 tons of wheat flour for 2.1 million U.S. dollars, 374.9 tons of vegetable oil for 605,000 U.S. dollars, US$17.5 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for U.S. 456,000 as well as food products and electrical appliances have been delivered to the country over the report period.
Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 50.5 percent, Egypt – 5.8 percent, the Netherlands – 4.6 percent; China – 3.5 percent, Germany – 3.4 percent, Germany – 3.4 percent, France – 3.3 percent, Korea – 3.1 percent, Latvia and Iran – 2.8 percent each, Denmark – 1.9 percent, and of the CIS countries: Russia – 10.2 percent, Kazakhstan – 2.9 percent, and others.
