DUSHANBE, June 22, 2012, Asia-Plus – Tajik known journalist, Ms. Mavlouda Sultonova, died after a long disease.

She died in Tehran, Iran where she had been taking medical treatment.  The body of Mavlouda Sultonzoda is expected to be transported to Dushanbe on Saturday and she will be buried here on Sunday.

Mavlouda Sultonzoda had worked for the Dushanbe independent weekly Rouzi Nav (New Day) and an article titled “Who Is Rahmonov?” that was published in the Dushanbe independent weekly Neroui Sukhan (The Power of Word) in summer 2004 made her known.  After that article Mavlouda Sultonozoda was reportedly receiving threats and was forced to leave the country in fear for her daughters.

Mavlouda Sultonzoda had leaved in Dushanbe recently and she had been leaving Dushanbe for Tehran from time to time for medical treatment.
