DUSHANBE, July 5, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A group of Moscow physicians, who are native of Tajikistan, intend to set up the professional association to provide assistance to Tajik labor migrants working in Moscow and Moscow oblast.
The Union of Tajiks in Russia says a group of physicians, who are native of Tajikistan, met recently in Moscow on the occasion of Medical Worker’s Day.
The meeting participants reportedly discussed problems of providing medical services to Tajik migrants workers. They also decided to set up the association of physicians, who are from Tajikistan by origin – Vorisoni Sino (Successors of Avicenna).
The association is expected to organize volunteer groups to provide free medical aid to our fellow-countrymen working in Moscow and Moscow oblast.
According to some sources, an estimated one million Tajik seasonal workers travel to the Russian Federation each year, primarily to Moscow and Moscow oblast seeking better employment opportunities.
