DUSHANBE, August 30, 2012, Asia-Plus – A second meeting of the Public Council at the Migration Service under the Government of Tajikistan is taking place in Dushanbe today.

The Migration Service press center reports the meeting is considering the current labor migration situation and discussing problems existing in the labor migration sphere.

The Public Council members reportedly include representatives from relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan, local public associations and international organizations active in the country, research instituted and the Federal Migration Service of Russia (FMS)’s office in Tajikistan, as well as representatives of ethnic communities.

The Public Council is an advisory and consultative body at the Migration Service functioning on a voluntary basis.  It coordinates activities of government organizations, public associations and research institutes dealing with migration issues.
