DUSHANBE, January 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday January 15, the British Ambassador to Tajikistan, Robin Ord-Smith, hosted a dinner for the finalists and winners of the Farah-2012 Women in Business contest, part of an effort to encourage the active participation of women in the country’s economy.
According to press release issued by the British Embassy in Dushanbe, this informal meeting in a friendly atmosphere brought together the finalists of Farah-2012, all of whom are women conducting business in a wide range of areas in Tajikistan.
The participants of the meeting reportedly discussed their achievements and a variety of new business projects and plans with the Ambassador.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the finalists to make professional contacts and to learn more about the work of their fellows in the country.
The Ambassador congratulated the winners of the contest – Zamira Qahhorova, the overall winner of Farah 2012 in agriculture sector, Umriniso Matmusoyeva, beauty and hair winner, Sabohat Boboyorova, handicraft winner – and thanked all of the participants for their significant contribution to the economy, and for raising public awareness about the role of women in the development of Tajikistan’s business environment.
