DUSHANBE, January 29, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Findings of a survey by the Center for Sociological Research, Zerkalo (Mirror), have shown that a major part of Tajikistan’s population is optimistic about their lives in 2013.
63 percent of those surveyed believe that they will be successful this year. Only 2 percent of those surveyed are pessimistic about their lives in 2013, while 29 percent of those surveyed said that they would not know.
The most popular replies to the question about their plans for this year were: to celebrate a wedding (to marry their children or get married); build a house or purchase an apartment; to make the repairs to a house or an apartment; and to leave Tajikistan fro Russia seeking better employment opportunities.
Only one percent of those surveyed said that they plan to have the rest abroad.
Asked about 2012, 68 percent of those surveyed said that they were successful last year and 23 percent of those surveyed said that last year “was an ordinary year for them.” Only 7 percent of those surveyed said that “last year was difficult and not good for them.”
In all, 910 people have been surveyed.
