KULOB, July 15, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The number of crimes committed by women in the city and the district of Kulob has reportedly increased over the first six months of this year.
“Eight crimes committed by women from the city and the district of Kulob have been reported in January-June this year,” Ms. Saida Nourlyaminova, the chairperson of the department for women’s affairs, Kulob mayor’s office told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to her, local women have committed mainly frauds and thefts over the report period.
“In 2012, 10 local women were convicted of crimes and in 2011, six women from Kulob were convicted of crimes,” Nourlyaminova noted.
She added that according to the statistical data from the Council of Justice’s office for Khatlon, female crime rate has shown upward tendency in the area in recent years.
