Kulab. 27 August. “Asia-Plus” – Kulab Regional Directorate of Tajikstandard gave the go-ahead to launch the new technology line for production of new common iodized salt in the oldest salt factory in southern Tajikistan.
Hikmatulla Safarov, the Head of the abovementioned directorate, told Asia-Plus that “Khwaja Mumin” Company was experiencing many difficulties the past 5 years and stopped working completely in 2013.
According to him, now new Chinese equipment is installed in the factory with a capacity of 5 tons. He said: “Now the factory can produce various types of food products, including ‘extra’ type of salt, which was not possible for the past 50 years.” Furthermore, according to Mr. Safarov, today there are 7 mini-factories on salt production working in the region.
