DUSHANBE, September 4, 2013, Asia-Plus – Tajik President, Emamali Rahman, opened a new laboratory with 3 levels of biological security on 4 September, under the Gastroenterology Institute in Dushanbe. Health Minister, UN Permanent Coordinator in Tajikistan, UNDP Director in Tajikistan, as well as representatives of various government structures of Tajikistan, embassies and international organizations were present in the ceremony.
UNDP reported to Asia-Plus that the laboratory with biological security was built with active assistance by the Health Ministry and UN Development Program, and with the financial support of the Global Foundation.
French specialists of Merrill Foundation took part in the construction and installation of new technologies of the laboratory. The total sum of construction and equipment of the laboratory is over $3 million.
