QURGHON TEPPA, November 14, 2013, Asia-Plus -- 23 investment projects for a total amount of more than 330 million U.S. dollars are reportedly being implemented in the southern province of Khatlon.
Saymumin Mousoyev, the head of the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest)’s office in Khatlon, says these projects target the following sectors: education (2 projects); health (2); agriculture (5), water supply and irrigation (4), energy (4), exploration and development of gas fields (2); municipal engineering (1); and transportation (3).
“Domestic investors have invested 84 million somoni in construction of 280 production and consumer services enterprises that has allowed creating 3,500 new jobs in the area,” Mousoyev said.
He further added that Khatlon entrepreneurs had proposed 29 investment projects to GosKomInvest and six of them for a total amount of 2 million somoni had been endorsed.
The government has reportedly provided 33 million somoni to support investment projects of domestic entrepreneurs in Khatlon.
