QURGHON TEPPA/KHUNAND, December 23, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Regional administrators have ordered to provide assistance to vulnerable families, people with disabilities, and elderly people who don’t have relatives to support on the occasion of the New Year holiday.
Thus, Khatlon governor Davlatsho Gulmahmadov today ordered all state-run enterprises operating in Khatlon and local government agencies to provide humanitarian aid to vulnerable people, people with disabilities, and veterans of the Great Patriotic Ware of 1941-1945.
Gulmahmadov ordered to prepare New Year’s gifts for children from vulnerable families and military units deployed in the province.
Khatlon governor also called on private entrepreneurs to actively participate in that charitable action.
Meanwhile, Khujand mayor reportedly visited vulnerable families on December 23. According to the Khujand mayor’s office, Rajabboy Karimov visited 10 families who have members with disabilities.
“During ten days, humanitarian aid will be provided to more than 1,000 vulnerable families on the occasion of the New Year holiday,” the source said, noting that the assistance include wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil, and rice.
