DUSHANBE, May 6, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday afternoon received Dr. Adel Abdullah Al-Falah, Deputy Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) and Islamic Affairs also Head of the International Al-Wasatiya Center, the State of Kuwait.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait.

President Rahmon, in particular, noted that providing material and financial assistance to backward Muslim countries and taking measures to reduce the gap between advanced and backward countries would be for benefit of all Muslims.

The sides reportedly exchanged views on issues related to combating extremist movements and parties that take Islam as a cover.

Dr. Adel Abdullah Al-Falah noted that the International Al-Wasatiya Center is ready to open its office in Tajikistan.

The International al-Wasatiya Center that was founded in Kuwait several years now has offices in a number of countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Russia.

The term "al-wasatiya" occurs from the Arab word “wasat,” which means not only “the middle” or “the center,” but also “the balance,” “the harmony,” which means the harmony of the real in relation to the world order.
