DUSHANBE, October 13, 2014, Asia-Plus -- According to the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, a total of 676,300 nationals of Tajikistan have left the country over the first nine of this year.

This figure reportedly includes some 539,000 migrant workers, including 83,600 women.

Tajik seasonal workers travel primarily to the Russian Federation but also to neighboring Central Asian countries.

Over the report period, more than 530,300 Tajik labor migrants have traveled to the Russian Federation and some 6,000 have traveled to Kazakhstan.

Specialists from the Migration Service say the reduction in labor migration as compared to 2013 is due to the introduction of amendments to the existing Russian Federation legislation on to the activities of labor migrants from foreign countries.

Meanwhile, more than 279,300 Tajik nationals, including some 228,500 men and some 50,000 women, have returned to the country over the same nine-month period.
