DUSHANBE, October 15, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) today ratified a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan on construction of a Turkmen-language school in the Jilikul district of Khatlon province.
Speaking at the session, the Minister of Education and Science Nouriddin Said noted that the agreement had been signed during Turkmen President Berdimuhamedov’s official visit to Tajikistan.
According to him, Ashgabat has allocated 3.5 million U.S. dollars for construction of the school that will accommodate 540 pupils.
“The Turkmen Embassy in Dushanbe will announce a tender for construction of this school in the near future,” the minister said, noting that Tajik construction companies cold also participate in the tender.
