DUSHANBE, June 16, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev yesterday held a meeting to discuss issues related to saturating the city’s markets with basic food products during the holy Islamic month of Ramadan, which will start on June 18.
A special attention was taken to measures to prevent artificial rise in prices for food products during the holy month of Ramadan, an official source at the Dushanbe mayor’s office told Asia-Plus in an interview.
We will recall that food-price inspections are usually launched at Dushanbe’s bazaars to prevent price rises in the days before Ramadan. The mayor’s office also recommends merchants to curb prices for basic food products during Ramadan.
