DUSHANBE, July 1, 2015, Asia-Plus - 10 percent of vetted teaches at the Tajik Islamic University have been dismissed.

“A special commission has been set up by the Ministry of Education and Science to assess the professionalism of teachers at the Tajik Islamic University and 10 percent of vetted teachers have been dismissed,” Tojiddin Asomuddinzoda, Rector of Tajik Islamic University, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, changes have been made to the University curriculum.  “Our students now get two specialties – for example, informatics and the Arabic language,” said the rector.  “They had formerly got only one specialty – the teacher of the Arabic language.”

In new academic year, the Tajik Islamic University is expected to accept more than 300 students, Asomuddinzoda added.
