Dushanbe. 1 September. “Asia Plus” -- President of the Sciences Academy of Tajikistan Farhad Rahimi today presented Emomali Rakhmon an official certificate that a small planet in the solar system is named after Tajikistan.

According to the presidential press service, the decision was made in tribute of respect to works of Tajik astrophysicists from the International Union of astrophysicists.

Minor planet Tajikistan is located between the planets Mars and Jupiter; the distance from the planet to the Earth is 250 million kilometers, to the sun - 453 million kilometers.
