DUSHANBE, October 22, 2015, Asia-Plus – Russian media report 500 labor migrants were detained in a special operation carried out at the construction site for residential complex “Fili Castle” in Moscow Wednesday (October 21) evening.
Interax news agency quoted Andrei Galiakberov, a spokesman for the Moscow police department, as saying that the detained migrants have been checked for involvement in a series of robberies.
According to police, two of the detained migrants – Tajik nationals – have been arrested on suspicion of committing a series of robberies.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the provisions of Article 162 of Russia’s Penal Code – robbery; an investigation is under way.
The Migrant-215 Operation is currently being carried out in Moscow.
