DUSHANBE, January 7, 2016, Asia-Plus -- The number of users of services offered by the communications service providers (CSPs) has reportedly decreased in Tajikistan.

A source in the government says the communications service agency recently held a meeting to review the results of the past year’s work.

In 2015, a general income of Tajikistan’s postal and telecommunications workers reportedly amounted to 2.667 billion somoni, which was 99.7 percent of the 2014 level.

A total gain of private communications service providers last year amounted to 2.5406 billion somoni, which was 99.2 percent of the 2014 level.

The communications service agency head Beg Saburov attributes decline in incomes of Tajik postal and telecommunications workers to global financial crisis and decrease in incomes of communications users.

Meanwhile, enterprises accountable to the communications service agency such as Tajik Telecom (Tajikistan’s state-owned national telecommunications operator), Pochtai Tojik (Tajik Post Office) and the Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility (CEMC) reportedly overfulfilled their last year’s targets by 11.5, 10.9 and 8.6 percent respectively.
