The Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, citing meteorologists, reports that on September 27-28, there is a risk of local mudflows in several foothill and mountainous areas of districts subordinate to the center and Sughd province.
In this regard, the Emergencies Committee strongly urges adherence to all safety precautions. Specifically, to mitigate the effects of mudflows, it is advised to clear drainage channels and mudflow diversion structures, and irrigation ditches of debris, and to exercise extreme caution while gathering firewood, fishing, herding livestock, and hunting in hazardous areas.
"Drivers, mountaineering enthusiasts, and those engaged in mountain auto-motor or bicycle tourism are advised to strictly follow safety protocols and maintain the recommended travel intervals when moving through mountainous terrain," reminds the Committee.
