The Tajik State Philharmonic was transformed into a vibrant celebration of music and friendship on the evening of October 28, as the legendary Turkish band Yeni Türkü performed a memorable concert in honor of the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkiye.

Organized by the Turkish Embassy in Dushanbe with support from the Turkish community in Dushanbe, the event drew a full house. The audience sang along to beloved melodies, filmed videos on their phones, and even danced in the aisles. “This is one of the warmest crowds we’ve ever played for,” the band members said.

The concert was a captivating fusion of Eastern musical motifs, modern arrangements, and heartfelt lyrics exploring themes of life, love, and freedom. Between songs, the musicians joked with the audience, shared stories, and expressed their gratitude for the warm reception—comparing it to the atmosphere of an Istanbul concert.

The evening felt more like a gathering of close friends than a formal performance, blending Turkish spirit with Tajik hospitality.

The following day, on October 29, Yeni Türkü gave a short performance during an official Republic Day reception hosted by the Turkish Embassy. The event was attended by diplomats, Tajik government officials, and distinguished guests.

This concert marked Yeni Türkü’s debut appearance in Central Asia. The band members shared their admiration for the Dushanbe audience and said they were deeply moved by the heartfelt welcome.

The performance served as a vivid reminder of music’s unique power to transcend borders and bring people together.
