The Committee for the State Roudaki Prize has announced the start of accepting submissions for the 2026 awards. This is one of the most prestigious awards in Tajikistan, presented in the fields of literature, art, architecture, and journalism. The submission period will last until December 25, 2025.
According to the Union of Writers of Tajikistan, works created in the past five years in the fields of literature, architecture, and music, as well as films, television programs, and publications made in the past three years, are eligible for nomination.
Award categories
The Roudaki Prize is awarded in the following categories:
· Literature;
· Theater and Cinema;
· Music and Performing Arts;
· Visual Arts and Architecture;
· Children's and Youth Creativity (including literature, theater, cinema, music, visual arts, and more);
· Journalism.
Additionally, there is a special international prize awarded for the translation, research, and popularization of Tajik literature abroad, which is open to foreign authors. A separate prize is awarded for each category.
Who can submit works?
Ministries and agencies involved in literature, art, and journalism, as well as the National Academy of Sciences and creative unions, have the right to propose works for the award. Other scientific and cultural institutions, universities, publishing houses, and organizations can submit works through the aforementioned institutions.
How to submit works?
To submit works, an official letter signed by the head of the organization or institution must be provided, including the title of the work, the date of its first publication or presentation, and the author's name. The letter should also explain the content and artistic value of the work.
In addition, the following documents must be attached:
· A decision from the ministry, committee, or creative union proposing the work;
· A protocol from the meeting of the council or the governing body of the institution with the voting results and a protocol from the artistic or scientific council;
· Reviews;
· The candidate’s address, biography, and photo.
Requirements for submissions
For the categories of "Literature" and "Journalism," 10 copies of the work in the form of a book or journal must be submitted, without the possibility of return. For the "Theater" category, a recording of the performance, along with a list of actors and the text of the play, is required. In the "Cinema" category, scripts and video recordings of films are accepted. For "Music," scores, audio recordings, and artistic video materials must be provided. In the "Visual Arts" category, works must be presented in the original or as copies in albums. In "Architecture," albums with images of built objects, projects, and photographs with explanations of their concepts are required.
The requirements for the categories of "Children's and Youth Creativity" and the "Special International Prize" are similar to those mentioned above.
If collective works are submitted, information about each author must be provided separately. It is also noted that the number of authors in collective works should not exceed 8 people. Additionally, one candidate cannot submit more than one work for the competition.
