Iran's Interior Ministry Director General for Border Affairs Department announced that Iran and Russia have signed a cooperation agreement on a pilot electronic blockade project on the borders of the two countries, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported on December 30. .
Explaining the plans and results of the visit of the Iranian Interior Ministry's delegation to Russia, Shahriyar Heidari reportedly said yesterday that the border cooperation agreement between Iran and Moscow was reached after four expert meetings and negotiations and will be implemented by the Russian side.
“Sharing experiences between the two countries on border control, the use of efficient electronic and optical technologies, and intelligent border management have been among the major issues of the trip,” the Interior Ministry official was quoted as saying by IRNA.
He further added,”We visited electronic and optical equipment and Russian border control intelligent industries.”
During the trip, the Iranian delegation, headed by Heidari, met the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Mehdi Sanaei, according to IRNA.
