Faridaily reported today morning that a high-ranking source “familiar with the plans of the military leadership” says the Ministry of Defense will continue the campaign on recruiting contract soldiers next year.

The regions have reportedly already been informed of the hiring quotas they need to fulfill next year “and these quotas are about the same as this year's ones.”

“In the country as a whole, it is planned to find about 400,000 people who agree to go to the front,” the source was quoted as saying. 

A person taking part in meetings in the Kremlin reportedly also says that the Russian regions will have to continue to actively look for people for service on the contractual basis next year.  

He did not provide an exact plan for recruiting contract soldiers in the coming year, but according to him, “it will be similar to what it was this year, or a little less.”  

“But definitely not more,” the source added.  

Recall, media reports said in March this year that the Russian Ministry of Defense plans to recruit another 400,000 contract soldiers in 2023.  The recruitment drive was launched on April 1, and regional governments were informed of the hiring quotas they need to fulfill.
