The Government of Pakistan has abolished the payment of visa fees for citizens of 126 countries, including Tajikistan. According to Pakistani media, the light regime began to operate on August 14, the Independence Day of Pakistan.

The list includes all the countries of Central Asia, the European Union, a number of states in the Middle East and others.

Citizens of these countries will be able to apply for a 90-day visa by filling out a simplified online form consisting of 30 questions. The visa will be issued within a few hours after filling out the form, which will significantly reduce the bureaucracy and delays that previously prevented the arrival of tourists.

Special provisions have been adopted for residents of the Persian Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain) – visas will be affixed to their passports right at the airport upon arrival in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, an event dedicated to the tourism potential of Tajikistan was held in Islamabad. At it, the Ambassador of the Republic to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda spoke about the initiatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to develop the tourism sector, presented the rich tourist opportunities of the Republic, the ancient history and culture of the Tajiks.

The representative of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, in turn, noted the growing interest of the tourist circles of Pakistan in Tajikistan. As a result of the event, 10 memorandums of cooperation were signed between the travel companies of Tajikistan and Pakistan.
