DUSHANBE, April 18, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Deputy Foreign Minister Nizomiddin Zohidov told reporters in Dushanbe on April 18 that work on implementation of the MFA restructuring concept is going on.
“A new department – department of general information and diplomatic communications – has been established within the ministry under this concept,” said Zohidov, “Besides, the department of information and the department of analysis and strategic studies were merged into one new department, named department of information, press, analysis and planning of foreign policy.”
According to information received from MFA, Davlat Nazriyev, formerly head of the information department, has been appointed to head the department of information, press, analysis and planning of foreign policy.
In the meantime, deputy foreign minister added that it could not be ruled out that in connection with increasing authority and role of the Asia-Pacific region in fields of agriculture and industry the department for the Asia-Pacific region affairs would be established at the Tajik MFA in the near future.
We will recall that the MFA restructuring concept is designed for 2007-2020.
