DUSHANBE, May 2, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Meetings of members of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament with voters in the regions concluded on May 2.
We will recall that MPs had been in the provinces since April 23 to meet with residents to explain them the main points of recent president’s address to the parliament. Issues related to socioeconomic development of the provinces and tackling problems facing local residents were also among major topics of the meetings.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says MPs will prepare detailed reports on the results of their meetings with voters. “The reports that will include wishes and proposals of voters will be sent to the government,” he noted.
