DUSHANBE, May 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The Dushanbe municipal government will provide extraordinary grants to war veterans on the occasion of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, says 504,150 somoni have been allocated from the city budget to provide extraordinary grants to 1,350 residents of the capital.
Invalids and veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 will receive 500.00 somoni each, the spouses of the servicemen who died in that war as well as invalids of the Soviet-Afghan War of 1979-1989 and the Chernobyl cleanup operation and families of the persons who died during the restoration of the constitutional order in Tajikistan will receive 350.00 somoni each.
Besides, events dedicated to the Victory Day will take place in Dushanbe on May 9.
