DUSHANBE, May 31, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has made amendments to his decree of May 24 on new public transport fares, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office said.

According to him, the fare for bus routes ## 3a, 11, 14, 20, 23, 26, 27 and 30 will remain unchanged – 60 diram.  The fare for bus routes ## 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 8a, and 41 will be raised to 1.20 somoni.  An express bus service (an express bus service is a bus service that is intended to run faster than normal bus services between the same two commuter points) will cost 1.20.

The fare for the fixed-route taxi routes that are not more than nine kilometers in length will remain the same – 1.00 somoni.  “Among them are the fixed-route taxi routes ## 5, 11, 12, 21, 22, 24, 26, 34, 55 и 67,” he said.

In the meantime, the remaining 19 routes that are more than 18 kilometers in length each will be reorganized into 38 routes.  “The fixed-rout tax routes ## 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 25, 28, 33, 44, 52, 54, and 79 will be divided into two parts each and the fare for each of the parts will be 80 diram,” the spokesman said.

An express fixed-route taxi service will cost 1.60 somoni.

As it had been reported earlier, public transport fairs will rise in Dushanbe beginning on June 1.  This measure, coordinated with the antimonopoly agency, has reportedly resulted from rising prices for fuel and spare parts.
