DUSHANBE, August 4, 2011, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon who is currently on a working visit to the northern Sughd province today morning visited Istaravshan district, the presidential press service reports.
In Istaravshan, the president attended a ceremony of an official opening of the fruit and vegetable processing enterprise launched at Obi Zulol, a water bottling plant. The enterprise has capacity of processing 25,000 tons of fruit and vegetables per season.
Obi Zulol is a fully operational bottled water and soft drinks producer located in Istaravshan. The plant was built by SASIB Beverages in 1999-2000 and financed with participation of the EBRD and Aqua Crystal. The establishment of the Obi Zulol enterprise allowed increasing the availability of safe drinking water in Tajikistan and facilitating the transfer of technological and management know-how.
Rahmon also visited the Poshkent and Vogat farming units and attended an official opening of the sports complex, Daleron, which had been built in the center of the city of Istaravshan due to funds provided by local private firm, Durdona.
