DUSHANBE, December 8, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Deputies of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) Ismoil Talbakov and Mahmadrahim Karimov, who are working out the country’s law on oil and gas, are currently in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to study experience of their Turkmen counterparts in developing the fuel legislation.
According to the Majlisi Namoyandagon press center, they met with a group of Turkmen parliamentarians Thursday morning to exchange views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
Turkmen parliament (Mejlis) has 125 members, elected for a five-year term in single-seat constituencies.
Tajik MPs also held talks with senior representatives of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources and Turkmengaz State Concern on December 7, the source said.
