DUSHANBE, February 17, 2012, Asia-Plus -- On Thursday February 16, President Emomali Rahmon met with Minister of Labor and Social Security Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov and relevant officials to discuss issues related to social protection of the population and timely payment of pensions and allowances, the presidential press service reports.
Those present reported on measures taken by them to implement president’s instructions regarding regulation of activity of the Fund for Social Protection of the Population, procedure of award of pensions and timely payment of allowances.
Speaking at the meeting, the president pointed to the necessity of observing the principles of social justice when awarding pensions and allowances. Rahmon ordered relevant agencies to take adequate measures to find solution to problems existing in the field of social protection of the population, the source said.
