DUSHANBE, February 29, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- A government meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, took place on February 28.

According to the presidential press service, head of the Committee for Environmental Protection reported on the process of implementation of the national protected natural areas development program designed for 2005-2015.

The meeting also heard a report by chairperson of Khatlon’s Qumsangir district on allotment of lands in the district for housing.  In all, 467 hectares will be allotted for housing in Qumsangir.  To-date, land plots have been allotted to 1,933 families.

The meeting also approved a report on lands allotted under types and categories.  The volume of irrigated lands has reportedly increased by 4,400 hectares.  35,377 hectares of lands, including 29,129 hectares of irrigated lands, are expected to be retuned to crop rotation within the next few years, the source said.

The meeting also considered and endorsed a number of bills requiring amendments to the country’s laws on holidays, basic vocational education, information, applications of citizens, standardization, and medicines and pharmaceutical activity, as well as administrative code.

The government also endorsed the internal migration program designed for 2012-2014, the national program to support women’s employment designed for 2012-2015, the military-and-patriotic program for youth of pre-military and military age designed for 2012-2015, as well as programs for forecasting concepts of development of legal regulations for agriculture and environmental protection, entrepreneurship, defense, security, law enforcement and international relations, the presidential press service noted.
