DUSHANBE, April 6, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- President Emomali Rahmon yesterday had telephone conversations with chairpersons of eleven cities and districts to review the results of the first quarter’s work, according to the presidential press service.

The city and district heads reported on the results of the financial and economic activity carried out over the first three months of this year, spring sowing campaign and measures taken to mitigate effects of floods and other natural disasters.

The head of state reportedly ordered them to speed up the spring sowing campaign and take adequate measures to provide farmers with agricultural machines, fuels and fertilizers.

A special attention was paid to the issues related to mitigating effects of natural disasters, the source said.
