In the course of his official visit to St. Petersburg on Wednesday Speaker of the Upper Chamber of Tajikistan’s Parliament Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev met with the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Sergei Naryshkin in the frameworks of CIS, CSTO and EurAsEC interparliamentary assemblies.
Speakers of Tajik and Russian parliaments highly evaluated current level of cooperation in such spheres as economics, politics, parliamentary relations, education and social sector, Assistant of the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan Shavkat Saidov told AP.
“It has been stressed that in the conditions of globalization there is a need to improve level of cooperation in such spheres as hydropower energy, investments and humanitarian sector,” Saidov said.
He added that the sides have discussed regulation of labor migration processes, protection of the rights of migrants from Tajikistan in Russia, strengthening of relations between regions of the two countries.
