DUSHANBE, December 31, 2013, Asia-Plus -- A December 30 meeting of the government, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, reportedly made a decision to establish Tajikistan Media Academy.
“Emomali Rahmon pointed to the necessity of establishing Media Academy during a meeting with journalists on March 10, 2012. The meeting was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Tajik press,” said the source. “At that time, the head of state ordered relevant ministries and organizations to study this issues and prepare the necessary documents.”
According to him, the Academy is expected to offer training, education and consultancy services to address the needs of the local media industries.
