DUSHANBE, April 10, 2014, Asia-Plus – A commodity test lab has opened at the border crossing point (CBP) Khumroghi in the Vanj district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), according to the Agency for Standardization, Certification, Metrology and Trade Inspection under the Government of Tajikistan (Tojikstandart).
According to Ms. Farida Laloyonova, the chairperson of Tojikstandart’s office in Gorno Badakhshan, skilled specialists work with the lab provided with the state-of-the-art equipment necessary for testing goods delivered for cross-border trade.
We will recall that the bridge in the Khumroghi area in Vanj was introduced into operation on August 16, 2011.
It is the fourth in a series of Tajik-Afghan bridges across the Panj River in Gorno Badakhshan funded by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). The bridge connects Tajikistan’s Vanj District with Mohi-May Vulusvoli in Afghanistan to consolidate permanent overland links between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
