DUSHANBE, April 10, Asia-Plus – A project for construction of the second line of the poultry plant Murghi Hilol in the Fayzobod district was presented on April 10 during President Rahmon’s visit to the district.
The enterprise is expected to deliver 12 tons of chicken meat to the country’s market per year.
The poultry plant Murghi Hilol now has 500,000 birds, including hens and chickens.
Innovative enterprise for production of biogas will be constructed at the poultry plant Murghi Hilol in Fayzobod. The enterprise will process 120 tons of chicken’s droppings per day for production of gas and organic fertilizers as well as generation of electricity.
The enterprise will produce 12,000 cubic of gas and generate 1.2 megawatt hour of electricity per day. The annual capacity of electricity generation will be 9.0001 million kW.
A US$63 million preferential loan will be taken from the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) for construction of a new enterprise.
Biogas technology, the generation of a combustible gas from anaerobic biomass digestion, is a well-known technology. There are already millions of biogas plants in operation throughout the world.
Whereas using the gas for direct combustion in household stoves or gas lamps is common, producing electricity from biogas is still relatively rare in most developing countries. In Germany and other industrialized countries, power generation is the main purpose of biogas plants; conversion of biogas to electricity has become a standard technology.
Energypedia notes that that a poultry farm of 5,000 birds could generate 5 kW of bio-electricity.
