KHUJAND, April 22, 2014, Asia-Plus -- A total of 160 new industrial enterprises are expected to be introduced into operation in Sughd province this year.
“They will create more than 5,000 new jobs for local residents,” the head of the Sughd energy and industry department, Nabijon Ibrohimzoda, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Over the first three months of this year, 30 new industrial enterprises have been introduced into operation in the province, bringing a total number of industrial enterprises operating in northern Tajikistan to 328. These 30 new enterprises have reportedly created 920 new jobs.
Over the report period, Sughd province has produced a total of 708.9 million somoni worth of industrial goods.
Compared to the same period of last year the index of the volume of production of industrial goods in Sughd has amounted to 108.3 percent, Ibrohimzoda said.
