DUSHANBE, April 30, 2014, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan reportedly has the lowest average wage among the CIS nations.
The CIS Intestate Committee for Statistics reports that in February this year the lowest average wage in the CIS area was registered in Tajikistan – 175.00 U.S. dollars.
Over the past six years, an average monthly wage in Tajikistan has reportedly increased nearly four times – from 215.00 somoni in February 2008 to 820.00 somoni in February 2014.
Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Belarus remain leaders among the CIS nations in terms of average wage rates.
As of February 1, 2014, average wage reportedly amounted to 820.00 USD in the Russian Federation, 575.00 USD in Kazakhstan, 545.00 USD in Azerbaijan, and 540.00 USD in Belarus.
In Armenia, an average monthly wage stands at 380.00 USD, in Ukraine – 355.00 USD, in Moldova – 275.00 USD, and in Kyrgyzstan – 200.00 USD.
The CIS Intestate Committee for Statistics did not provide information about average month wages in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
