DUSHANBE, May 7, 2014, Asia-Plus – Issues related to establishment of cooperation between Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and Dubai Chamber Commerce and Industry were a major topic of a meeting of Tajik CCI Chairman Sharif Said with Mr. Hassan Al Hashemi, Vice-President, International Relations, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry that took here on May 6.
According to the CCI press center, the sides also exchanged views on bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and establishment of mutually beneficial partnership between representatives of business communities of the countries.
Hassan Al Hashemi expressed readiness to provide necessary support for participation of Tajikistan businesspeople in events held by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The two also discussed export of UAE finished commodities to Tajikistan and further expansion of investment cooperation.
Sharif Said outlined sectors like energy, oil and chemical industry, construction, logistics, transportation and tourism, as areas of which could drive the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates.
Sharif Said and Hassan Al Hashemi reportedly also talked about possible investment by UAE in Tajikistan''s energy and industrial sectors, as well as establishment of joint ventures for processing fruits and vegetables, wool, leather and cotton in Tajikistan.
Tajik CCI head offered establishment of the Tajikistan-Dubai Business Council that would provide platform for dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, the CCI press center said.
