DUSHANBE, June 6, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Police and forces from Russia''s Federal Migration Service (FMS) have detained 400 suspected illegal migrants in Moscow, radio Liberty reports.
Russian Interior Ministry officials say that the migrants were apprehended during a special operation held on June 5 at the Moskva-City business center construction site in the Russian capital.
The majority of the detained labor migrants are citizens of Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Police say they are checking the backgrounds of all of the detained individuals and say they expect them all to be deported to their home countries.
Police and the FMS began checking the construction complex more thoroughly after mass clashes erupted there in late May. Many labor migrants were injured.
