DUSHANBE, May 28, 2015, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday May 27, Tajik Ambassador to France Homidjon Nazarov met in Paris with Ms. Sylvie Goy-Chavent, a member of the Senate of France and chairperson of the France-Tajikistan Parliamentary Friendship Group.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and France.
Ambassador Nazarov reportedly noted that Tajik Parliament had also established the Tajikistan-France Parliamentary Friendship Group and expressed confidence that the establishment of the parliamentary friendship group would give a new impulse to expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Ms. Sylvie Goy-Chavent, for her part, expressed readiness to undertake efforts to promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between France and Tajikistan, especially in the fields of agriculture and education, the Tajik MFA information department said.
The Senate is the upper house of the Parliament of France, presided over by a president. Indirectly elected by elected officials, it represents territorial collectivities of the Republic and French citizens living abroad.
