DUSHANBE, October 17, Asia-Plus - The Central Asian Gateway project ( www.cagateway.org ) jointly with the UNDP Country Office in Kyrgyzstan organizes a contest among the web-sites for the best Internet-resource promoting the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Central Asia.
The contest purposes are to raise public awareness about priority issues, targeted by the goals for poverty reduction and sustainable human development in the region. The Internet-resources, covering the processes of socio-economic development in the countries of Central Asia, are eligible to participate in the contest.
The web-sites will compete by the following nominations, which correspond with the focus of MDGs: the best website on eradication of poverty; the best website on healthcare; the best website on education; the best website on gender equality and the best website on environmental sustainability. The selection criteria are the following: relevance to nomination; frequency of content update; convenience in navigation; statistics of visitors. participants:
The applications are welcome from the editors/ administrators of the Internet-resources, which promote the process of sustainable development at economic growth, focused on poverty reduction and human development.
The Central Asian Gateway Project aims to facilitate the experience and knowledge exchange in the field of development and integration of Central Asia. The project is implemented by the Center of Economic Research (Uzbekistan), Information Agency AKIpress (Kyrgyzstan) and Information Agency Asia Plus (Tajikistan) with support of the UNDP Regional Center (Slovakia) and UNDP COs in Central Asia.
